Hi, y’all I’m Dorothy or Dorth or D$ (all jokes aside don’t use that last one) and I am one of the CFL1 trainers here at Crossfit HighTide. Ever since my husband and I joined this community in 2020, we have felt a sense of belonging whether pushing to finish a workout and having everyone cheer each other on or simply out and about the Hill and seeing familiar faces; once you’re a part of this CrossFit community at HighTide your heart and home grows tenfold. On top of the community that is built here, a part of the beauty of coaching and working out in this environment is that I thrive off of everyone’s accomplishments no matter how big or small and as a Coach, that is the most rewarding part of the hour working together. Growing up in a highly competitive household and playing collegiate sports, I have always craved competition with myself and with others pushing me to be better, and thus began my CrossFit journey in 2010 while away at school, at the CF Fenway. After I graduated, I was commissioned into the Army where teamwork and hard work are a necessity, a common thread to CrossFit. The Army led me here to Savannah, and then overseas where I met my now husband, Brandon, and together we bonded over gritty workouts and pushing yourself to be and do better through Crossfit we have never turned back as we both have coached together for 6 years now. I love new challenges and working to maintain my health and wellness through exercise and nutrition and I love sharing my knowledge and passion with others so that I can inspire in them what was ignited in me. I am so excited to continue to give back to the community that has already done so much for us!
